MD MS Admission in India 2025
MD MS Admission in India is a process through which eligible medical graduates can pursue postgraduate medical education in the country. MD MS is a three-year degree program that leads to the specialization of a physician in a particular branch of medicine.
The MD MS Admission process in India is conducted by National Medical Commission (NMC) and it is mandatory for all Indian medical graduates to appear for this examination. After qualifying MD MS examination, candidates can apply for MD MS admission in any of the government or private medical colleges in India.
Eligibility criteria for MD MS admission in India include having a valid MBBS degree from an NMC recognized medical college, minimum marks required in MBBS Final year examinations, and successful completion of one-year compulsory rotating internship.
Selected candidates will be offered admission based on their performance in MD MS entrance examination and interview. MD MS Admission 2025 dates have not been announced yet by NMC. Eligibility criteria for MD MS admission in India
Eligibility Criteria Eligibility for admission to MD/MS Courses shall be as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by the NMC from time to time.
- Eligibility criteria for MD MS admission in India vary depending on the NMC guidelines.
- Aspirants must have completed MBBS from a university recognized by NMC to be eligible for entrance into an MD or MS program in India.
- The age limit for MD/MS aspirants is 45 years as of December 31st of the year of admission. Eligible candidates must also have completed one year of Internship on or before March 31st of the year of admission.
- Admission to MD/MS programs is based on the scores obtained in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) – PG, which is conducted by NBE annually.
How to Apply for MD MS Admission in India
Every year, thousands of students from all over the world apply to Indian medical schools to pursue their MD or MS degree. The process of applying to medical colleges in India can be daunting, but it is worth it to be able to study in one of the most renowned healthcare systems in the world.
Admission to MD/MS courses in India is done on the basis of marks secured in the NEET PG examination. Candidates who qualify the NEET PG exam with minimum required marks are eligible to apply for MD/MS courses offered by various medical colleges in India. The process of applying for MD/MS courses is as follows:
- Research the different medical schools in India and decide which one is the best fit for you. Make sure to consider factors such as location, curriculum, and admissions requirements.
- Check if you meet the eligibility requirements for admission to the school of your choice. Most Indian medical colleges require that applicants have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum GPA.
- Register for and take the NMC Screening Test, which is required for admission to all Indian medical colleges.
- Candidates must first register themselves on the official website of Medical Council of India.
- After registering, candidates must login to their account and fill in the Online Application Form.
- In the application form, candidates must enter their personal, academic and contact details.
- Candidates must also upload their passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- After filling in the application form, candidates must pay the application fee through online mode.
- Once the application fee is paid, candidates can take a printout of the completed application form for future reference. The duly completed application form must be sent to the concerned authorities along with other required documents.
It is important to note that admission to MD/MS courses in India is highly competitive and seats are allotted on the basis of marks secured in NEET PG examination

Candidates must meet the following conditions to be eligible for NEET-PG 2025:
- Must hold a Valid MBBS degree/ Recognised MBBS degree by NMC-India or be currently pursuing an MBBS from a college recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)/NMC along with Completion of Internship before 31st July 2025.
- Must have secured degree in MBBS
- General Category- 50% marks
- PWBD Candidates- 45%
- OBC/SC/ST Candidates- 40 %
